Community Foundation Supports Hospital
Families and supporters from The Barstow School of Ghana made a donation to significantly impact the lives of children at the Princess Marie Louise Hospital in Accra on Thursday, Nov. 24. The donation is the first one made through Barstow Ghana Community Foundation.
The Barstow School of Ghana always is deeply committed to nurturing not only the academic growth of our children, but also their sense of empathy, compassion and responsibility towards others. The Barstow Ghana Community Foundation was launched during the 2023 graduation. Parents and loved ones supported this great initiative and donated various items and cash.
The donation at the Princess Marie Louise Children's Hospital took place on Thanksgiving Day to express the Barstow community's gratitude and love for others. Mrs. Gloria Agambila, a Barstow parent who represents the community foundation, presented the items to the management of the hospital, assisted by the school's Managing Director Mr. Albert Arthur, Academic Principal Mrs. Rosalynn William-Mensah and Mrs. Opoku Afrane, a parent. Dr. Margaret Neizer accepted the items worth about GhS 12,000.00.
Students and staff distributed party bags filled with toys, storybooks, toiletries, drinks, biscuits and other age-appropriate items to the young patients on admission to the emergency ward. They aso gave out drinks and biscuits to young patients visiting the Out-Patient Department (OPD).
The Barstow Community Foundation donation to the Children's Hospital was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the young patients, their families and hospital staff. This initiative not only showcased the foundation's commitment to social responsibility, but also highlighted the positive influence that educational institutions can have on the community.
